Top five favourite horror movies of all times
The majority of us just adore watching a first-class horror movie once in a while. Others just love to get together often on a Saturday night and do an horror night until dawn only with their favourite horror movies.
We all have our favorite horror movie or our top five best horror movies, and here is mine. You may not agree with this top five but that is something obvious as we all have different opinions.
I would probably give the first place to the movie Psycho, the masterpiece by the famous Hitchcock that came out at the beginning of the sixties. Even if is a fairly different movie compared to other horror movies, it surely scared some of us to leave us with a strange feeling that only a few movies did.
The Exorcist would definitely be my second choice in this top five. The actors played really well in this film that was made at the beginning of the seventies by William Friedkin. Some of the scenes in this movie have become cult and especially the bedroom scene with the priest. The other scary thing about this movie is that it is inspired from a real case that happened in a Washington suburb.
The shinning has to be in the top three. All of these three films could be top really. This masterpiece directed by Stanley Kubrick in the nineteen eighties. Jack Nicholson is just amazingly scary in this adaptation of a Stephen King’s novel.
The fourth place in this top five would go to The Texas Chainsaw massacre. Considered as one of the best horror movies ever, it was first released in the middle of the seventies and was very successful in the United States. Some censorship boards like in Australia, Sweden, Iceland or the United Kingdom banned it for some time which prevented an even bigger success.
I know you are probably going to laugh at me but I would put the movie Jaws in the fifth place. There is not much blood in this movie but it really traumatized a whole generation. Some of us still probably think about the movie when they go to the beach for a swim.
